Decision: Adding a trustee to support languages of the Americas
Date of Decision: November 2022
Decision Maker: KASAHOROW
Target Group: KASAHOROW dictionary users
Reason for Decision:
At the beginning of this year, we announced our European presence in support of our goal of inclusion in every language. We have grown from our humble beginnings as an African-based entity to supporting inclusion in languages of Africa, Europe and Asia.
As we enter 2023, we are focusing on expanding our reach even further by supporting languages of the Americas. We are currently hiring for a regional trustee for the Americas (contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested in the role). We have completed the first step on this journey: registering a legal entity to support this work.
We will continue to apply our principles of inclusion as we grow and add language dictionaries. Keep your eyes peeled for the addition of our first American language dictionary: Quechua (Runa Simi), an indigenous South American language mainly spoken in Bolivia and Peru.
If you and your friends want to learn Quechua, one word at a time, please join the kasahorow Runa Simi waitlist at https://qu.kasahorow.org/subscribe.
